چکیده

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the role of uterine artery Doppler flow velocimetry at second trimester of pregnancy in prediction of preeclampsia. Methods: This prospective study is carried out in the department of Radiodiagnosis, Krishna institute of Medical science, Karad. The study includes 220 pregnant women (primigravida) from August 2013 to September 2014 whose Uterine artery resistive index and pulsatility index was calculated between 14 to 20 weeks of pregnancy. The main uterine artery was located at the uterocervical junction close to the crossover point of the uterine and external iliac arteries on both sides. RI>0.7 & PI>1.4 was considered abnormal. Conclusion: Doppler velocimetry of uterine artery at second trimester of pregnancy can be used as a reliable screening test for prediction of preeclampsia and helps to identify women at high risk and helps to modify follow up and management.

The Relationship of Uterine Artery Doppler Velocimetry Findings and Hemoglobin Concentration with Pregnancy Outcomes in Pre-eclampsia

Abstract Background: Epidemiologic studies have shown the relationship of maternal hemoglobin level and abnormal findings in uterine Doppler sonography with pregnancy- related complications. In this study, we evaluated the relationship of uterine artery Doppler velocimetry findings and hemoglobin level with the outcomes of pregnancy in women with preeclampsi...

The Role of Uterine Artery Doppler Ultrasound in the Second Trimester in Predicting Preeclampsia

Background Preeclampsia is a specific pregnancy syndrome. Early diagnosis and proper administration of preeclampsia can lead to improved maternal and neonatal outcome. We aimed to investigate the uterine artery Doppler ultrasound in predicting the preeclampsia in women with a high-risk pregnancy. Materials and Methods This analytic study was conducted on 160 primigravida women with gestational...

بررسی مقاومت عروقی در داپلر شریان رحمی در زنان حامله مبتلا به فشار خون مزمن

Background and Aim: Uterine placental bloodstream pressure can be measured by Doppler ultrasonography, which is a non-invasive technique. Uterine arteries velocimetry progressively decreases during the first and second trimesters in normal gestation due to trophoblastic invasion of musculoelastic membrane of uterine spiral arteries. The relationship between trophoblastic invasion and placental ...

Diagnostic evaluation of uterine artery Doppler sonography for the prediction of adverse pregnancy outcomes

BACKGROUND Increased impedance to flow in the uterine arteries assessed by value of the Doppler is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, especially pre-eclampsia. We investigated the predictive value of a uterine artery Doppler in the identification of adverse pregnancy outcomes such as 'pre-eclampsia' and 'small fetus for gestational age' (SGA). MATERIALS AND METHODS Three hundred and ...

Risk assessment of preeclampsia in advanced maternal age by uterine arteries Doppler at 17-21 weeks of gestation.

OBJECTIVE To assess the risk of preeclampsia development in elderly gravidarum by uterine arteries Doppler at 17-21 weeks' gestation. MATERIAL AND METHOD Pulsatility index (PI) of the uterine arteries was measured by color Doppler transabdominal sonography in 298 elderly gravida women at 17-21 weeks of gestation. The criterion for abnormal results was PI > 95th percentile of each gestational ...
